THE Junior football card was virtually wiped out by Saturday’s stormy weather.
Even those games scheduled for 3G pitches were postponed, due to the difficult travelling conditions.
Greenock’s match at Kilsyth, and Port Glasgow’s game at Cambuslang, were amongst almost 30 of those called off as the West Region card was virtually wiped out, though remarkably the match between Irvine Vics and Darvel did go ahead.
Greenock are on the road again next weekend, with a trip to face Blantyre Vics, and will be hoping to avoid a third week of postponements, though the drainage at Castle Park is not the best.
Meanwhile unless we have a repeat of Saturday’s flooding, Port Glasgow will be confident of getting back into action at Parklea, where they are scheduled to face Forth Wanderers.
