MORTON forward Jon Scullion has been offered a contract extension until the end of the season.
The ex-St Mirren colt signed until the beginning of January in the summer, and manager Jim Duffy recently sat down with him to discuss his future.
Talented forward Scullion, 20, who has three goals in two stars and eight sub appearances, has been offered new terms and could head out on loan for a six-week spell to get more first-team game time.
Speaking exclusively to the Tele, Duffy revealed: “Jon has been offered something until the end of the season. It’s not been signed yet but the offer has been made.
“First and foremost I would like Jon to sign a new contract and then maybe go on loan for a month or maybe a little bit longer, maybe six weeks or so, to get some first-team football on a regular basis.
“I think that would help him enormously. He’s a stick out at Under-20s, an absolute stick out. He scores goals for fun and some fantastic goals at that.
“But it’s the next level we want him to try and prove himself at, and we’ve spoken to him about that and he understands that.
“He’s a terrific boy with great ability but we just need to see if we can get him some regular first-team experience, and there are one or two possibilities.”
