SWANSEA City have agreed to allow Alex Samuel to remain with Morton until the end of the season, the Tele can exclusively reveal.
The Welsh striker’s original loan deal was set to expire after the Scottish Cup tie at Livingston tomorrow.
But the English Premier League outfit have confirmed they are happy for the 20-year-old to extend his stay.
Manager Jim Duffy told the Tele: “Alex has agreed to sign until the end of the season and Swansea have agreed it as well.
“We just found out this morning and I’m delighted. He’s a terrific boy who’s only 20 years of age and has come up here to learn his trade, and he is learning.
“He definitely gives us a threat in the forward area, and obviously the more options you’ve got in that department, the better for any football team.
“As far as Alex is concerned, he is happy to continue, which he told me he was anyway, and it was just about getting the paperwork concluded.
“He’s actually at Cappielow just now signing the papers, so hopefully that will be everything done and dusted soon and we can look forward to having him for the rest of the season.”
