JIM Duffy says a trio of newly re-signed Morton defenders must look to build on the experience gained in the past two seasons by adding a number of important qualities to their game.
Thomas O’Ware, 23, and Lee Kilday, 24, have penned two-year contract extensions whilst Ricki Lamie, 22, committed himself to the Cappielow club for another campaign.
Former centre-half Duffy reckons all three already possess considerable strengths but has high hopes they will evolve by improving on aspects such as their concentration and organisational skills.
He told the Tele: “Hopefully the experience our players have had will help them improve next year, and that’s what all the young defenders — Lee, Ricki, Thomas — have got to do.
“They need to add that organisation, vocalisation, to try and make sure people are on their toes, and concentration to cut out the wee lapses.
“If they can add a little bit more of that to their game they can move up to a different level, because their defensive play, their one-on-one defending, their positional play — all that has been very good.”
Meanwhile, Duffy confirmed that back-up goalkeeper Andy McNeil has reached an agreement on a one-year contract extension.
