MIDFIELDER Nicky Cadden has become Morton's latest summer recruit after penning a one year deal at Cappielow today.
The 22-year-old, who started his senior career with Airdrieonians, has been at Livingston since 2016 and had a loan stint with Ayr last season.
Former Motherwell youth player Cadden posted almost 100 appearances in all competitions for the West Lothian outfit as he helped them to back-to-back promotions up to the top flight.
Morton manager David Hopkin brought him to Livi and says he targeted his former player as soon as he became available.
Hopkin told the club website: “Nicky is a great signing for the club. He’s a fantastic player with great ability. He had four or five options, but he knows how I work and I know that I can get the best out of him.
“I signed him from Airdrie when I was at Livingston when we were in League One. Nicky was a young boy at the time – I think he was part-time and in and out doing a university degree – and he caught our eye.
“He was a traditional wide player: he wants to get the ball, run at people, and get deliveries in the box, and what he achieved after coming to Livi at such a young age, getting double promotions, shows he’s a winner.
“He knows how I want to play and I’m delighted he’s going to be with us at Morton next season.”
