MORTON sealed their qualification for the last 16 of the Betfred Cup to set up a clash in the capital against Premiership side Hibs after a day of drama at Cappielow.
Queen of the South fought back from two goals down in the tie, with manager David Hopkin sent to the stand after Cameron Salkeld’s last-minute strike was ruled out for offside.
The Ton went on to dust themselves down and gain the crucial bonus point that saw them qualify thanks to two fantastic Sam Ramsbottom saves in a thrilling penalty shootout, which they won 4-3.
