MORTON have been linked with a move for Arbroath midfielder Nicky Low ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.
Manager Dougie Imrie said after Saturday’s win over Inverness Caley Thistle he is hoping to recruit another two signings before the window shuts.
The Ton boss has refused to be drawn on whether the Greenock-born ace is on his radar, but it’s understood Low is open to a return to full-time football.
Speculation of a possible move away from Gayfield has continued after the 30-year-old didn’t feature in Arbroath’s match day squads for their League Cup tie against Partick Thistle on Tuesday or Saturday’s Championship clash at Hamilton Accies.
However, Low’s contract with the Red Lichties could be a stumbling block, with his deal not due to run out until 2023.
The life-long Morton fan told the Tele in May that he would regret hanging up his boots without having the chance to play for his hometown team.
He said: “It would hurt if I never pulled on a Morton jersey before I retired, but I don’t want to just go when I have finished my career.
“I would only go if I thought I could help play a part.”
