OUT-of-form Morton hosted an Ayr United side aiming for back-to-back league wins on Sunday.
The hosts faced an uphill task at Parklea when they conceded after four minutes.
A straight ball from a free-kick at the halfway line caught the defence out and Clare Docherty knocked it into an empty net.
Morton huffed and puffed with spells of possession, however, there were no real opportunities in the first half.
Morton were afforded an opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot, however, Seagrave saw her penalty saved.
This seemed to galvanise Ayr and they took the ascendancy again.
A shot from distance five minutes from time was enough for the visitors to secure the well-deserved win.
Thanks to Ayr for their donations to Inverclyde Foodbank.
l Morton Women would also like to thank shirts sponsors Vortex Electrical and Events and Clyde Eats.
