AFTER the long trip north last week, Wanderers return to Fort Matilda to face Allan Glen's, writes John Dyer.
The Bishopbriggs outfit sit level with Howe of Fife in fifth position in the Tennent's National League Division Three after a strong start to the campaign.
This game will not be any easier for the home side as Glen's have beaten Orkney, Murrayfield, Hillhead, West and came within five points of Howe last week at home.
All of these sides have beaten Wanderers, so the Greenock men are well aware of the dangers posed by their opponents.
However, head coach Bobby Mitchell's selection headache has been eased slightly this week as more players are available coming back from injury or work.
Dylan Campbell makes a welcome return after serving the concussion protocol and Leigh Tyley is available and will add experience to the backs.
Good numbers at training has allowed Mitchell to work on tightening up the forwards play.
Hopefully Bobby Stone will join his under-18 colleague Lyle Murray, who are in their first senior season.
There will be plenty of support as the club are holding their sponsors' day organised by convenor Diane Hughes.
Past presidents and captains are also joining the guests.
Kick-off tomorrow is at 2pm.
Meanwhile, the 2nd XV travel down to Marr and boast a mixture of experience and younger players.
With a strong side they should give a good account of themselves after a defeat to West last week.
Marr sit second in the league and Wanderers are in seventh.
The ladies travel to Annan for their last game of the season.
In the home fixture the ladies had an impressive 94-5 win in November and a repeat performance would confirm second place in the league.
On Sunday the minis are in action at Fort Matilda while the micros are at Clydeview. Both play at 11am.
The under-13s take on Ardrossan at home at 2pm and the under-15s host Oban at 2pm.
Annan is the destination for the under-14s.
Last Saturday the under-13s secured a thumping 69-17 win over Bishopton.
Tries were scored by Lucas (three), Campbell (three), Josh (two), Angus (two) and Brodie.
Lucas, Angus, Liam and Luca made the conversions. Man of the match was Josh Lang.
l Greenock Wanderers are sponsored by MM Search. The ladies team are sponsored by Straps of Gourock and Brow House Cosmetics.
