LEWIS Strapp believes Morton deserved at least a point against Partick Thistle after Ross Docherty's last-gasp goal saw the Jags leapfrog the Greenock men in the table.
The full-back insists his side would have been well worthy of a point had they held on but he has now backed his team-mates to bounce back from the disappointment of the defeat.
He told the Tele: "We want to win every game and Saturday just wasn’t our day.
"We have just got to put that behind us and kick on.
"After coming up to Firhill last time, we knew what we were coming into. They are one of the better teams in the league.
"It is a tough one to take when we felt as though we had done enough to get a point, maybe even push on to win it."
The 23-year-old says he was confused how referee Alan Muir came to the decision to award Partick Thistle a second-half penalty for handball.
Strapp said: "The penalty against us, I don’t know why it was given. The ref said it was handball but I am not too sure whose hand it has hit.
"I think he gave a free-kick then gave a penalty.
"I don’t know what his thought process was, but these things happen throughout the season, maybe one in the next game will go our way."
