Pay tribute here:Too young to see him play. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times. The definition of a gentleman. He gave everything he had, always. He will be missed forever and never forgotten. Love to his family at this awful time.

From George Gemmell

Pay tribute here:Rest in peace Allan You were my football hero As a kid in the 60s supporting Morton Thanks for the memories and watching you score some wonderful goals

From Andrew Thompson

Pay tribute here:You were an inspiration to me as a kid joining the Morton youth ranks. I remember you watched on my Scotland trials. Got the manager to pull me off, hence losing out on the Scottish you setup, as I was injured and you knew that. I was young and devastated. Yet! The talk you had with me inspired and made complete sense and I walked away happy. You were a real man manager and a wonderful person. Condolences to the family.

From Gordon Parker

From Stuart Duncan

Pay tribute here:Marcel Proust, "In Search of Lost Time" said never meet the people you admire (or look up to), you'll be disappointed. Allan was my boyhood favourite Morton player, a goal scoring machine. I met Allan much later in life at social and family events. No matter the occasion Allan always had time for fans and not always Morton supporters. A handshake here, a photo there, an autograph on a piece of paper or just a chat about football in general. He was just a humble man who made time for people and couldn't understand all the fuss around him. I've watched as people bypass big name stars at events to have the opportunity to talk to Allan such was his appeal. Allan will be sadIy missed by us all, we have lost a true gent of the beautiful game. By the way, Marcel Proust was wrong I was never disappointed.

From Stuart MacNab

Pay tribute here:Was Allan McGraw's teams who got me into supporting Morton in a big way. The season we nearly made the Premier and the Dundee Utd game will live with me forever. Thanks for the memories, even the bad ones!

Pay tribute here:Unfortunately I'm too young to of seen him play, and I can't remember the side he managed either. But he has been a terrific servant to the club, more so than any one else. His goalscoring record as a player, his 12 year tenure as a manager, he then stood by the team when we faced our darkest hour with administration. And continued following us right until he unfortunately passed away. Its a fitting tribute the main stand has been named after Allan. Allan is Morton, Morton is Allan, Allan is Mr Morton, he will never be forgotten at Cappielow!!

From Mary Taylforth (Ritchie- Brennan)

Pay tribute here:So sad to hear this news rest in peace Allan x Mary Taylforth (was Brennan) and family

From Brian Skelton

Pay tribute here:Mr McGraw will always be a legend to the Morton fans,he gave his all to the club be it player, manager or being a fan who he helped greatly in our fight for survival. A fitting tribute would be the Council and Morton doing something special like a statue being erected at Cappielow or a new road being named in his honour to his dedication to the club.

From Angus Brennan

From DEREK DYER

Pay tribute here:No-one is bigger than the club ... they say .. Few achieve what Allan did - player , record goalscorer , reserve coach , manager , board member , hall of fame recipient , main stand named after him. Not much more he could have achieved really. Yes he WAS , IS & WILL ALWAYS BE our MR MORTON. Pure dedication and class throughout. It'll hurt for a long long time to come. You were the best and have set the bar high for others. Thank you for all you did for OUR club & community - it will NOT be forgotten. Rest well Allan. Player , Leader , Legend.

From Mark

Pay tribute here:I'd like to start by saying my sincere condolences to all the family. This is a legacy of a gentleman and hero to many. As a schoolboy myself and two pals very hesitantly knocked on Mr McGraws door at his Gourock home. We just wanted to say hello to our hero. Mr McGraws wife Jean answered the door and beckoned us into the house. Mrs McGraw told her hubby there were three boys here to see him. We were ushered into the living room and there he was, our hero, and there we were, speechless. What followed was 3 hours of Mr McGraw telling us tales of football & Morton while Mrs McGraw fed us cakes & juice. It was all very surreal to us young lads but this down to earth man in his humble home gave us a day we would never forget. I met Mr McGraw several times over the years to come and his demeanor and friendliness never changed a bit. He was as I wrote, a true hero to many and one of lives proper gentlemen. RIP Mr McGraw. You will never be forgotten.

From John McCartney

Pay tribute here:Alan McGraw gave me my first football memory at the 1963 league cup final. We played Rangers, and in the first half Morton we’re playing towards the many thousand Morton fans. I was standing just behind the Rangers goal, when McGraw (with a couple of defenders marking him) went up for a header. He jumped what looked like a foot higher than the big defenders and his header shot over the bar by 3 or 4 inches. If it had gone in it would have burst the net. I was only 8 at the time, but that memory has stayed with me ever since. A great player and a real football man. They don’t make em like Alan McGraw any more.

Pay tribute here:Allan is a true icon of our club. Legendary goalscorer , Manager (who liked a £300,00 sale) - was always honest and fair with every single player. A massively sad day for all with Morton at their heart. The end of an era , and thank goodness they named the Main Stand after him when they did. Truly Mr Morton always with the interests of the club at heart - OUR CLUB , HIS CLUB. Thoughts are with all grieving at the news - i join you in that. RIP Alan - you will NEVER be forgotten for you service to the club we ALL love - and like you will love until our time comes to an end ......

From Jim Atkinson.

Pay tribute here:A great person, very sad news, condolences to all his family.

From Johnny Black

Pay tribute here:The world is a duller place, football is a little less beautiful and the Morton family have lost a man that will never be replaced but will never be forgotten. A man who gave way more than he ever cared to take, and a man who to his final day, didn't think that he had done anything other than what was expected of him. A footballer. A gentleman. A unique human being. Mr Morton. Then, now and always. Rest In Peace. And whilst it will never, ever cover what I truly feel - thank you, just thank you.
