FORMER Morton favourite and new Kelty Hearts boss Michael Tidser is plotting a swoop for Reece Lyon who is making a shock Cappielow exit.
The Tele can reveal that academy graduate Lyon is set to exit the club, despite having a year left on his contract, which is due to run until the summer of 2024.
The 23-year-old has spent the majority of the season out on loan at League Two play-off hopefuls Annan Athletic, after falling out of Ton boss Dougie Imrie’s plans.
Lyon has featured 30 times for Peter Murphy’s side this season and it's believed Annan want him to join them permanently.
But Lyon has a number of clubs chasing his signature.
Incoming New Central Park boss Tidser is one of the managers hoping to secure the 23-year-old's signature.
Former Ton playmaker Tidser, who left the club in 2019, wants a reunion with the young midfielder, who he saw breaking into the Cappielow first team in the final six months of his last spell with the club.
Lyon was quickly secured on a long term deal in September of that year that ran until the end of last season, before being offered an extension which was due to run until June of next year.
But now the academy graduate, who’s made over 100 appearances for his local club, is set for a clean slate elsewhere as he looks to get his career back on track.
