A TALENTED young boxer has struck gold and been crowned a British champion as he continues his meteoric rise.
Noah Waddell was chosen to compete in the Tri Nations championships in Cardiff after Scottish boxing coaches while on trial.
After seeing off stern opposition, Noah was crowned British 50kg schoolboy boxing champion and added another gong to his growing tally.
The youngster's performances have now earned him the chance to fight for a European title in Slovenia next month.
Noah's proud head coach Rab McMaster said: "Noah’s opponent in the final was a very talented English lad who’s won multiple titles himself.
"Noah stuck to the game plan and boxed a great fight walking away with gold, a massive achievement for himself and Inverclyde as a whole.
"It’s great to see Noah’s hard work and dedication paying off."
Noah has thanked the the team of supporters and coaches that have helped him on his way to British success.
He added: "We want to thank Boxing Scotland for giving me the opportunity to compete at a higher level.
"I want to say a massive thanks to my dad Mark as well, who spends endless hours in the gym with me.
"I'm also grateful to Jason, Gary, Declan, Jordan and Andy for helping me continue on my journey."
