WELLINGTON Park Bowling Club recently held their 2023 prizegiving event.
The majority of the competitions organised saw large numbers compete, making this year a very successful season for the club.
The club also enjoyed success externally with a number of players reaching the latter stages of the area's Championship Finals.
Brandon Miller reached the finals of the Greenock & District U25s Junior Singles and Bowls Scotland District 26 U25s Junior Singles.
The club also had Bowls Scotland Pairs & Senior Fours in the District 26 Finals.
The season saw the club win the Greenock & District Fours League (Shield & Flag), the Over-50s League, Reid Cup, Greenock & District Championship Triples, Fours & Senior Fours, and had runners-up in the Triples League and Top10.
In the Renfrewshire competitions the club's sponsored fours won the title and had the runner-up in the men's singles championship.
Brandon Miller and Astyn McKechnie won the Bowls Scotland Alan Michie U15s Open Pairs Competition which was a great achievement.
Also, the club was represented at Renfrewshire county level with Brandon Miller being selected to represent the Renfrewshire U25s county team at the age of 15, and Davy Palmer and Brian McAlees represented the club for Renfrewshire South Bowls Scotland Andrew Hamilton Team for 2023.

Wellington Park Bowling Club would like to thank all who made it possible to have such a successful season, in particular, the bar and catering staff for looking after all members and visitors so hospitably at open events, and more so the Bowls Scotland Andrew Hamilton Trophy game the club hosted between Renfrewshire South & Stewartry.
The club also thanks the members who have helped refurbish the visiting away team locker room, Dougie Inglis for maintaining the green surrounds, special mention to the green-keepers for keeping the green in such pristine condition, the management committee and match secretary for their constant hard work in organising competition events, selecting teams, and providing members and visitors with various open competitions and match competitions throughout the season.

The Annual General Meeting of Wellington Park Bowling Club will take place on Sunday October 15 at 1pm in the clubhouse. If possible, all members should attend.
