WANDERERS annual Boxing Day match was played in front of a large vociferous crowd on a sunny afternoon.
The 1st XV selected almost a full strength side and the President's XV was a mixture of 2nd XV players, as well as players who were home for Christmas and some veterans.
It was the President's side who were first on the scoreboard with an interception by full back Boag who ran the length of the pitch to score under the posts.
The 1st XV responded with a try by Arnott, who was given the scoring pass unselfishly by the club's leading try scorer Robb.
The tackling was tough from both sides to establish bragging rights and the President's side retook the lead through a try by Hutchison.
On half time Dale went over for the 1st XV to make the score 17 - 14 to the President's side.
Several changes were made during the interval, mainly to the President's squad due to battle fatigue.
The 1st XV thereafter pulled away and had 24 unanswered points in the second half, making the final score 38-17 to the 1st XV.
A very competitive match enjoyed by everyone.
Director of Rugby John Dyer presented the trophy to winning Captain McDougal.
Thanks to Graham Knox for refereeing and Tracey, Barry and Dougie for running touch.
