FEMALE bowlers are glad to be back on the green for another season.
The ladies section at Lady Alice BC got the 'bowl' rolling for 2024/25 this week.
Ladies president Sandra Munro invited her husband Gus to throw the first bowl of the season.
Sandra, 80, has been bowling for 43 years.
Sandra added: "Bowling keeps you fit and supple and I absolutely love it.
"It's great for your physical and mental wellbeing.
"The best part of the game is the friendship and socialising."
Sandra said the club is keen to get more young people involved in playing the sport.
Gents president Shaun Griffin, ladies club match secretary Margaret Hoey, Greenock and district representative Mhairi McNeill, and chairman of the management committee John Clocherty were all there to see the ladies' season begin.
John said: "It's great to get support from representatives from other clubs who have come along as well.
"Bowling is a great sport and anyone from eight to 80 can play it."
