MORTON forward Lamar Reynolds says he’s feeling better after every passing game as he promised that the goals are just around the corner.

The 28-year-old front man arrived from Maidstone United over the summer and has been an ever present in a new look front line within Dougie Imrie’s side. And he’s opened up on just what his first month in Scotland has looked like.

After being deployed as a no.9 and on either wing, Reynolds says that playing against varying levels of opposition in the Premier Sports Cup has helped him find his feet in a relatively unknown environment to him.

He told the Tele: “Yeah, it’s been interesting getting used to my new surroundings and to Scottish football.

“We travelled to East Fife in our first competitive game and then the next away game was at St Johnstone in Perth.

“The dynamics of the two different stadiums was a bit different - so it’s been really exciting.

“Neither were good results, but we’ve managed to both times getting three points.

“Today we managed to get the three points, we probably could’ve scored a few more goals as well but it was a bit of an exciting game in most parts.

“It’s been quite exciting, I’m really enjoying the challenge so far.

“For me, I’m just taking it a game at a time at the minute.

“But that’s just because it’s so new. At the minute I’m preparing for a game and you don’t know what you’re coming up against just now.

“But I just go out and do what I can in the hope of getting the job done and learn as I go. It’s one of those things really.

“It’s all about getting used to new surroundings not only off the pitch but on it. I’m quite versatile and that’s seen the gaffer trust me in a few positions.

“I take that as a positive. As soon as I get my feet going and getting in amongst the goals, it’ll be happy days. They’re not too far away, definitely not.

“I’m feeling better every game and I feel more confident after every time I step out on the park. There’s more and more to come.”

Reynolds is thrilled at the prospect of linking up with former Aberdeen and Livingston man, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, who penned a six month deal late last week.

He admits that the towering front man hasn’t been shy in showing his quality in training as he backed the one time Arsenal man to make a big impact.

He added: “I’m really excited to link up with the big man, actually.

“We’ve had a few training sessions together since he’s come in and the link ups have been amazing.

“I think he’s going to be a really big prospect for us. He’s been a joke in training over the last week or so.”
