MORTON winger Michael Garrity says he’s ready to repay the faith shown in him by boss Dougie Imrie as he looks to put three loan spells to good use.

Garrity scored his first goal of the season in last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Alloa Athletic, ensuring his side finished their Premier Sports Cup campaign with a victory.

That was his first since penning a two year contract that’ll keep him at the club until 2026.

And now he’s determined to make his experiences count, after successful loan spells at Annan Athletic and Dumbarton, with his sights firmly set on making the grade in the Championship.

He told the Tele: “I think the two-year deal shows the faith that the gaffer has in me, really.

“I just hope that I can repay that out on the pitch this season.

“Whenever I get the nod from the gaffer I’m determined to just give it my all in the hope that my quality can shine through.

“I think at the time, it was vital for me to go out on loan and get game time at Annan and Dumbarton.

“It was good to get that experience, because I'm now at the point where I’ve played almost 100 professional games.

“It’s now up to me to take that experience and make the step up to play in the Championship.”
