Greenock will be hosting Kilmarnock at Glenpark this weekend in hopes of repeating last week's nail-biting victory over Langside.
The team's home advantage for the second consecutive weekend aims to upend Kilmarnock's previous win in June which was carried by the heroic batting of Adrian Maritz who scored 95 runs.
However, a number of returning players may bolster Greenock's chances.
Both Connor Nowlan and Angus Tolhurst have been significant contributors to the team during the summer and their return to form against Kilmarnock would heighten chances of a win.
This week, Greenock is missing influential players due to injury, including Ewan Stewart and team captain Greg McDougall.
Yet, the returning Harry Briggs, Aryan and Sam Sanghera should boost the batting line-up.
Nowlan, who has been selected as the new team captain in McDougall’s absence, may also decide to continue with Shailesh Prabhu as his opening batting partner.
Prabhu showed his experience at the top of the order last Saturday with a composed and crucial innings of 27 runs.
If Nowlan does make that decision, the returning Sanghera will likely drop down the order leaving Briggs in his regular number three spot and Tolhurst coming in at number four.
After last weekend's result, spirits are high among the Greenock players, who, if perform well this Saturday, will secure another win.
With numerous options in the batting order and a strong line-up in both bowling and fielding departments, the team is poised for a solid performance.
Greenock's 1stXI team for the match will be CJ Nowlan (Capt), M Ahmadzai, HR Briggs, PJ Bryceland, CS Calder, CS Pandher, S Pandher, SS Prabhu, AS Sanghera, SS Sanghera, AS Tolhurst.
The match will begin at 12noon.
Meanwhile, Greenock's 2ndXI "Glenpark" is on a break and will be resuming play next week against Bute County and Cowal.
