Anglers from the Newark Angling Club recently competed in two competitions at Loch Iubhair and River Dochart.
The 20 members competed in the second legs of the Glen Coaches Trophy and 50th anniversary Quaich that promised anglers who returned the heaviest fish and the heaviest bag over the three legs would lift the silverware.
Several anglers selected the loch as their spot, including Neil McDowell, who returned an undersize trout, and Patrick Dunn, who spent the day catching perch and reeled in a sizeable trout.
Both Stevie Leitch, who landed a pair of sizable Dochart Brown Trout from the river, and John Miller, who fished at the Auchlyne mark on the Dochart catching and returned an undersized trout, secured a place on the points board.
Martin Ferguson pulled the heaviest river trout, a Dochart Brown Trout weighing one pound eight ounces.
Meanwhile, George Martin netted four brown trout on the river.
Angler George Gemmell SR won the outing after meeting his eight-fish bag limit on the river.
He led with a total weight of 4lbs 2ozs.
Martin took second place with four fish weighing 2lbs 9ozs, followed by Ferguson with 1lbs 8ozs.
Leitch landed in fourth place with his two fish weighing 14ozs.
Unfortunately, the club's junior anglers struggled to meet the required fish size.
The club thanked Jordan Miller for his sponsorship of the outing.
