Wet weather resulted in the cancellation of matches for both Greenock 1stXI and 2ndXI on Friday and into Saturday morning.
The west of Scotland experienced substantial rainfall, making the ground at Woodfarm Playing Fields, where the 1stXI were set to play against East Renfrewshire in Giffnock, unplayable.
The umpires declared this after their field assessment on Saturday morning.
Similarly, the soaking state of Glenpark, where the 2ndXI (Glenpark) were to host a match with Bute County and Cowal, led to the game being called off.
It saved the Bute side a needless journey from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay by ferry as the match was cancelled on Saturday morning.
Only three more league fixtures remain for Greenock before the season's end.
Their upcoming Saturday match sees them playing against the second top team, Kelburne from Paisley.
Brighter weather conditions on Sunday enabled Greenock XI to engage in a ‘friendly’ match against the XL Club at Glenpark.
The XL Club batted first, managing 98 runs for two wickets loss after 22 overs and a total of 133 runs for nine wickets after 35 overs.
The Greenock XI overtook the visitors’ score in just 25.4 overs, losing eight wickets in the process.
While several batters achieved double figures, none produced a standout score.
