STUNNED Port Glasgow boss Tam Jamieson still can't get his head around how his side threw away a two-goal lead against league leaders Knightswood.

But he says the only way to fix it is by travelling to Larkhall and beating a winless Royal Albert this weekend.

The Undertakers looked on course for victory after opening up a 3-1 lead at Lochburn Park on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Garry Pettigrew and Dylan McLaughlin.

But Darren Miller halved the deficit from the penalty spot with 20 minutes to go before Lewis Smith levelled to set up a grandstand finish.

Knightswood would go on to find a winner and Jamieson says he still can't believe what he saw.

"Things couldn't have been going much better when we went 3-1 up," he told the Tele.

"We were cruising. If I'm being honest, we've not even made them work for their goals, which is quite disappointing.

"When you're 3-1 up with half an hour to go you're thinking that you'll see it out, but it's not worked out like that.

"We did so well for so long, and then pressed the self-destruct button.

"It's not even one of those ones that you can put your finger on either. We go 3-1 up through a cracking goal and you're thinking we're nearly there, then they go up the park and win a penalty two minutes later.

"It's one of those games where you question how the hell it happened.

"They were a physical side who went from back to front a lot but I thought overall we probably shaded it."

Jamieson says there's no point in his side resting on their laurels as they look to get over the disappointment of the collapse.

He says it's imperative that they make the most of teams being tied up in South Challenge Cup clashes to keep the pressure on those around them.

He added: "There's no point on dwelling on things.

"You can only fix the mistakes going forward, so it's good that we can go straight into the game against Royal Albert this weekend.

"We can't change it now. The only way we rectify it is by going out and winning on Saturday.

"If we can do that then we'll come into a run of four straight home games with a bit of momentum.

"There's not a lot of games this weekend with the South Challenge Cup being played, so it's even more pivotal that we win on Saturday.

"Knightswood are now six points ahead of us so we want to reduce that and keep the pressure on them."
