ALAN and Joanne Wallace won the annual Mixed Open Greensomes competition at Gourock Golf Club.
The duo, both Gourock members, won the handicap prize and the Robert and Marion Rice Trophy with an excellent score of 64.
The scratch prize was won by Thom and Maureen Kemp, also members of Gourock Golf Club, with a gross score of 82.
There was an enthusiastic turnout of 88 players on the day, with visitors from 24 different golf clubs, from as far as Sutherland, Fife and Lancashire, as well as from Spain, competing for the Robert and Marion Rice Trophy.
The views from the golf course were stunning. The course was in great condition and worthy of all the compliments given by the players, owing to the continued hard work of Hugh Logue and his team of greenkeepers, despite the varied weather during the summer golfing season.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Thanks are to be extended to one of the club’s main sponsors, Tweetypie Media, and to the novelty hole sponsors: club captain, ladies’ captain, new chef Faisal and club professional Derek Watters.”
