THE organisers of an annual running event in Port Glasgow have confirmed that this year's edition will not go ahead.
The Port Glasgow 10k team have confirmed that the race will not take place in 2024, but have stated that they hope to return in 2025 to tie in with the town's 250th anniversary.
They have also revealed plans to hold a companion 5k run alongside the 10k competition.
In a statement published online, bosses said: "We had been hoping to organise the 10k in some form this year with a revised route but unfortunately it has not worked out.
"We plan to be back in 2025 to help celebrate the Port's 250th Anniversary, including a companion 5k."
