GREENOCK Wanderers play their first competitive fixture of the season this Saturday when they welcome GHK to Fort Matilda in the National League Cup.
The Old Anniesland team are two leagues above Wanderers, so a very difficult match is in prospect, even after last week's win against Hillhead which saw a very much improved performance.
This Saturday will be a very different scenario, as a large number of the Wanderers squad are either on holiday or have work commitments, which will give their replacements an opportunity to show what they are capable of.
Wanderers' second XV are also in action on Saturday, away to Allan Glens in their first outing of the season.
On Sunday, the club's ladies' first XV play their opening match of the West Division One season away to Ayr.
