An impressive 36 young runners gathered in Battery Park on Sunday to undertake the 151st junior parkrun.
Boosted by ideal weather conditions, the young athletes were supported by 15 volunteers.
Highlighting some of the newcomers, Isla and Sophie participated in the junior parkrun for the first time.
The run wasn't short of outstanding performances, as a total of ten youngsters, Ella, Rudi, Murray, Jamie, Ailie, Kayla, Ruairidh, Rowan, Isla, and Rowan, managed to set new personal records.
Renowned participants Alice, Ruairidh, and Luke reached enviable milestones, receiving their half marathon, marathon, and ultra marathon wristbands respectively.
Following suit, Murray, Craig, and Louis also marked noteworthy milestones.
All three, having completed their 11th, 11th, and 50th junior parkrun respectively, are set to receive the much-coveted mile milestone wristbands at their next participation.
Standing out among the volunteers was Susanne, who lent her assistance for the 50th time at the Battery Park junior parkrun.
The race's fastest runners included Louis, who clocked 7.11am, and Elijah and Rudy who followed at 7.51am and 8.45am.
Among the girls, Faye completed the course in 8.59am, closely followed by Ella with 9.25am and Isla with 9.54am.
Event organizers showed appreciation to all volunteers, including Sandra Campbell, Aidan Canning, Lesley Dick, Lynne Fulton, James Gavin, Rhona Hair, Tracey Howe, Celeste McKnight, Marjorie Morrison, Rachel Neil, Kirsty Ormond, Susanne Stetz, Caitlin Taylor, William Taylor, and Sarah Ward.
Organisers are inviting more volunteers for following weeks.
