Matchplay tournament winners crowned at Whinhill Golf Club

The finals brought to a close the five single competitions and two doubles competitions that have been well supported over the summer season with the vast majority of members taking part in the competitions.

The prestigious 'Churm Trophy’ was won by Paul McCarn, who defeated Myles Gallacher in the final by a one-hole margin, while Stuart Coils claimed victory in the Auld Yins Tassie over Paul Allan.

John McCabe defeated John Donald in the Anniversary Trophy and Billy McCulloch won the Hugh Graham Trophy with a victory over Peter Folan.

Hugh Speirs took the spoils in the strokeplay event, the Peter Graham Trophy, with victory over Brian Mallon.

The team of Graham Brown and Kenny Lever got the better of Ross Kincaid and Paul McCarn in the Boyd (Greensome) Trophy, while Eddie Cassidy and Keith Haslam won the McIntyre (Fourball) Trophy with victory over the team of club champion Chris McDiarmid and Sean McGinlay.

All finals were played in a very sporting manner and were very closely contested, with only one of the matchplay finals won by a margin of more than two holes.

Churm Trophy: Paul McCarn defeated Myles Gallacher 1 up.

Auld Yins Tassie Trophy: Stuart Coils defeated Paul Allan 2 and 1.
