MORTON Women star Rachael McConnachie has urged her side to make their Barclays Championship experience count when they travel to Stenhousemuir this weekend.

Ton travel through to Falkirk on Sunday looking to bounce back from last weekend's heavy defeat to the hands of Renfrew.

But McConnachie is more than aware of the high that Stenny currently are riding following  their SWF League One promotion last time around.

And despite currently going through a bit of dip in form, Rachael's adamant that Gary Forbes's side are in a good place overall.

She told the Tele: “It was a big thing for Stenhousemuir getting promoted last season and they’re still riding that high.

“But on the other hand, we’ve got a lot of experience now in this league which we need to use to our advantage.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go there and go and out perform them.

“We’ve just come off the back of a defeat, so we’re more than raring to go and are really keen to bounce back by picking up all three points.

“We want to win every game and have that desire to go and pick up three points in order to build on where we finished last year.

“The squad’s definitely showing signs of improvement. We’ve got a good blend of youth and experience who are complimenting each other well, so there’s no reason why we can’t go and compete.”

“When you go into the interval 3-0 down you make things really hard for yourself to try and get anything from the game," she said.

“But I feel as if we came out for the second half and played so much better.

“It’s a hard ask to come back from, but the girls have been positive.

"We’ve been in good spirits in the chats and in training this week so we’re looking to bounce back against Stenhousemuir.”
