Wanderers spurned the opportunity to take something from a match against the top team in National 4 with their second half performance 3 - 6 down at half time.

A decision to take a scrum in front of the Ardrossan posts to level was spurned and the chance was gone to be level as Wanderers had played well up to that point.

They got off to a fast start with a penalty by Co Captain McDaid in the 3rd minute.

The visitors were quickly level converting a penalty 3 - 3 further pressure from the visitors resulted in another penalty conversion 3 - 6.

The home crowd were wondering why the visitors were so sluggish considering their recent results unfortunately Wanderers could not take advantage and lost full back Frizell for foul play.

He was followed by an Ardrossan forward for a similar offence shortly after.

The visitors responded to their coaches team talk and looked a different side in the second half as it didn't take long for them to score through their backs 3 - 11.

Changes were made by Wanderers with Hoodless and Brown coming on in the forwards and Mitchell in the backs but a series of poor passes and decision making by the home side led to further tries and a penalty for the visitors to make the final score 3 - 43 for Ardrossan.

Wanderers will have to regroup quickly this week as the have a further tough away match at Strathmore. Wanderers player of the match was Dylan Campbell.

Wanderers 2nd XV lost 49 - 28 to GHA.

Ladies 2nd XV had a fine win away at East Kilbride.
