GREENOCK Cricket Club were able to look back on a busy year after holding its end of season awards night at Glenpark.

The occasion provided the opportunity to recognise the achievements of both players and supporters.

The Players’ first team Player of the Year award was won by Chirag Pandher.

Pandher had a fine personal season in the first team.

He scored 175 runs in league and cup matches and also took a total of 17 wickets. 

The marksman was delighted to receive his award from the club's main sponsor Paddy Bryceland of Cleaning Supplies 4U.

The ‘Players’ second team Player of the Year’ award was won by Inam Khan.

Khan had a splendid season playing for both first and second team during the course of the summer.

As a fine all-rounder, Khan amassed over 370 runs and took 22 wickets over the course of the season.

The all-rounder received his Players’ second team Player of the Year award from Club member Alex Jasper.

Connor Nowlan and Angus Tolhurst, the club’s overseas amateurs from Brisbane, Australia were given awards for their excellent all-round form for the first team.

Nowlan totalled 672 runs in all matches including a century in a pre-season friendly against Renfrew.

He also took a total of 37 wickets with his best match figures five wickets for 12 runs against Hillhead in a league match in early July.

Tolhurst scored a total of 705 runs in all matches and had centuries against Hillhead and Aberdeenshire.

Angus also took a total of 36 wickets with his best match figures five wickets for 10 runs against Kilmarnock in a league match in early August.

Ewan Stewart would be the chosen one, getting a tip of the cap by one of the most important members of the club, after being presented with the ‘Captain’s Choice’ Player of the Year 2024 season from Club Captain, Greg McDougall

The final award of the evening went to club Player of the Year 2024 and collecting the top gong would be Emily Norris.

Norris clinched the award for her work as Junior Cricket Convener and for her excellent playing contribution throughout the season in the 2ndXI.

Emily also plays for the West of Scotland ladies team. In the photo below, Emily receives her award from former Greenock Club Captain and Scotland international Tom Black.
