A TOTAL of 116 people ran, jogged or walked the course at the 468th Greenock Parkrun event in Battery Park.

Thirteen of the participants were first-timers at the Greenock event, including Patrick McAleer who was taking part in his first ever parkrun, while 21 recorded new personal bests, many of which were thanks to the pace runners.

Representatives of 14 different clubs took part including Garscube Harriers, Dumbarton AAC, Meltham AC, Wee County Harriers, Tough Daddas, Springburn Warriers, Jog Scotland - On The Run Cumbernauld, Volunteers parkrun Club (Unofficial), Kilbarchan AAC, Dundee Road Runners AC, jogscotland, Blackpool Freedom Runners, GGH and IAC.

In addition, Joseph McFadden ran in his 100th parkrun, all of them in Greenock, and volunteered for the 50th time, while Marianne McKay took part in her 200th parkrun and volunteered for the 100th time.

Dylan Crawford was first to finish in 15:53, followed by first-timer Paul McMahon of Garscube Harriers in 17:38 and Lewis Khan in 18:06.
