OVER 100 fitness enthusiasts assembled to complete the 471st Greenock Park Run.
On a dry, but cool, October morning - 102 people ran, jogged and walked the course, in a field that welcomed 11 first timers.
The swathe of newcomers saw nine runners record new personal bests and welcomed representatives of seven different clubs took part.
There was one runner and one volunteer milestone to celebrate as June Jackson completed her 150th parkrun, all of which have been at Greenock, whilst Andrew Osborne volunteered for the 25th time.
Neil Lafferty led the men home in little under 19-minutes, only 12 seconds behind came Oliver Reilly. Dale McSherry completed the top three men.
The first female to finish, with a new personal best, was Lake City Athletic Club's Noreen Crombie.
First timer Liene Spruzeniece was quick to follow to complete the course in just over 22-minutes.
For the juniors, first timers, Iona Wilson and Frances McFadden completed the course in just over 24 and 26 minutes respectively.
The event was made possible by 17 volunteers: Gillian McDougall, Lesley Clark, Stephen Hanley, Francesca Lowrie, Graham Smith, Andrew Osborne, Eileen Stevenson, Jim Brannigan, Rebecca Laird, Oliver Reilly, Joseph McFadden, Tracey Howe, Marjorie Morrison, Alan Robertson, Lesley Dick, Scott Bailey and Gill Gilmour.
First time volunteer, Scott Bailey, was the 550th volunteer to help out at Greenock parkrun.
A club spokesperson added: "Saturday 26th October 2024 is the club's pacer week and post parkrun refreshments at the Pirrie Hall.
"We are looking for pacers that can comfortably run two minutes faster than the time they are pacing.
"We are also looking for volunteers to fill this week's roster as well as the following few weeks. If you can help out, please email greenock@parkrun.com or message our Facebook page."
