IT was a 'spooktacular' occasion as more than 20 young runners took part in the latest edition of the Battery Park's junior parkrun.

Twenty-four enthusiastic junior park runners and 18 volunteers took part in the event, many of whom dressed up for the occasion.  

Running in their first ever junior parkrun on Sunday was Kerr, while Leah reached another milestone after taking part in her 11th junior parkrun, meaning that she will receive her half marathon wristband next time she runs.

Bruce and NivenBruce and Niven (Image: Contributed) Visiting the parkrun again were the Byrne family and all three visitors, Fergus, Horace and Hugh, all gained new personal bests.

Along with the Byrnes, Tom, Thomas, Lucy and Luke also achieved new best times. 

Elijah was the first to finish this week in an astonishing time of eight minutes and five seconds.

Volunteer IreneVolunteer Irene (Image: Contributed) He was followed by the second boy to finish, Rudy, who finished 26 seconds behind him. 

Crossing the line with a new personal best of 08:46 and completing the top three boys, was Fergus. 

Anna led the way in the girls section, crossing the for to complete the course in 08:54. Shana was second girl to finish in 09:22. 

Completing the top three finishers in the section was Amber, who crossed the line in 10:59.
