GREENOCK boxer Tony Orr's Scottish lightweight championship title fight has been postponed until early in 2025 - less than a month before it was due to take place.
The orthodox tactician had been preparing to go head-to-head with fellow Scot, Kieran Tarleton, in Glasgow on November 23 for a shot at the currently vacant Scottish Lightweight Championship belt, headlining Kynoch Boxing Promotions' KO Chaos card.
But those plans have now been derailed after Tarleton was forced to call time on his professional career on health grounds following just seven bouts.
Taking to social media to confirm the news, Tarleton said: "Not the post I thought I would be writing at the moment, but unfortunately I am having to retire from professional boxing due to health reasons.
"Absolutely gutted as I was only four weeks away from achieving one of my main goals when I turned professional. which was to fight for the Scottish title. But things happen the way they are meant to.

"What a journey it's been. Never did I think I would've achieved what I have after returning to the sport so late.
"Time to put all my focus on my family and business now - thanks everyone."
Orr now faces an anxious wait to see if his pre-fight prep will be all in vain as the fight's promoters scramble to find a suitable opponent to fill the gap.
If an opponent is found though, it won't be for a shot at the Scottish title but as an exhibition bout.
The news doesn't mean that Orr's shot at glory has passed him by, with a rescheduled title bout said to be pencilled in for March 2025.
Speaking previously to the Tele - Orr said that the opportunity was the biggest opportunity of his life and one that he doesn't want to let slip, adding: It's the biggest fight of my life.
"I'd take anybody and anything that comes along," he said.
"It's a big thing for me and hopefully I can use it as platform to keep on building."
