GREENOCK Morton tonight reacted to their home game against Inverness being called off by pointing to the weather disruption they and their own fans had to endure.
In a statement released, Morton referred to their match against Queen’s Park at Hampden on October 7 – which went ahead despite significant flooding across Inverclyde.
The Cappielow club said: “While we are fully appreciative of the circumstances and the police advice not to travel, we have huge sympathy with our own supporters who just a fortnight ago had to either battle the elements to get to Hampden or couldn’t get out of Inverclyde to make the game.
“This included one of our players who was unable to reach Hampden due to the weather.”
Tomorrow's Championship clash has been called off and will be rescheduled on the advice of Police Scotland.
With Storm Babet having caused disruption across Scotland in recent days, Met Office weather warnings remain in place in the north and east of the country.
Police have advised people in these areas to avoid travel as a result.
All tickets purchased for the Caley Thistle game will remain valid for the rearranged fixture, and refunds will also be available on request.
Details of the new fixture will be announced in due course.
