A PROFESSIONAL job well done was probably the phrase used by most people associated with Morton with respect to Saturday’s Scottish cup victory over Bo’ness United.

I personally thought the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game itself but it was a gallant effort from the Lowland League side who gave Morton a fright or two.

The same professional performance will now be required in the next round as we entertain Montrose.

There were certainly signs from the Airdrie game last week and Saturday’s that we might be getting back to the Morton team we watched last season.

Obviously the fact that the majority of our players are back from injury is a huge bonus and perhaps now might be the correct time to start to judge the management team, rather than on the early season form?

We most definitely have a major battle on our hands in the Championship and especially with the league leaders Dundee United being our next game, but we live in hope that we can start to see an upturn in results.
