VETERAN Morton defender Kirk Broadfoot has warned that there will be twists and turns still to come in the Championship after his team's dramatic return to form.
Scotland’s second tier has produced some surprise results over the last few weeks and the big defender says it shows just how unpredictable the league is.
Broadfoot is keen for the Cappielow side to keep ticking over and build as much momentum as possible heading into the run-in.
Ton currently sit two points off the play-off spots with a game in hand but the experienced campaigner knows things can change quickly.
He told the Tele: “The Championship is mental, it’s so unpredictable.
“You’ve seen it in the last few weeks, with Raith up at the top drawing against Arbroath at the bottom at home and then getting beaten by Airdrie. And you only need to look at the run we’ve been on here.
“I don’t think a lot of people would have seen these things coming five or six weeks ago, and it just shows how tight and competitive the league is.
“Games come down to maybe a mistake or a piece of magic and you need to be right on it all the time and working hard to ensure you come away with all three points. That’s why we can’t afford to let up now.
“The league’s that tight where one win means you’re right in the mix for the play-offs and one loss means you’re looking over your shoulder again and potentially battling to beat the drop.
“There’s a long way to go yet, a lot of games to play and we’re definitely not allowing ourselves to get complacent.
“We will tick along and take either a point or a victory away from home and hope that we can win our games at home and see where that takes us.”
