GREENOCK footballer Lewis Morgan can be Scotland's secret weapon in the Euro 2024 opener tomorrow night, according to his German manager Sandro Schwarz.
The New York Red Bulls star was a late call-up to the Scotland squad after injuries to Lyndon Dykes and Ben Doak.
The former Celtic and St Mirren ace will miss games in the MLS because of the call-up.
But the club's manager - former Hertha Berlin boss Schwarz - is delighted for Morgan after he returned from injury setbacks and has tipped him to make an impact.
Schwarz said: "It’s great for him as a person, as an individual to play for his country.
"It’s also great for us, for the club, because it shows how we work together, how we’ve spent a lot of time on his individual program, especially the medical staff.
"I am super happy for Lewis. I was buzzing for him. He deserved it and I hope he enjoys the opportunity and makes the most of it.
"He’s been a guy that’s put his head down and gone to work all last year to get to where he is right now. It’s really incredible to see his growth and what he’s done I’ve seen so far so I wish him all the best and I know he’s going to do great.
"My advice to him is to just to be yourself and play free. Don’t stress too much, do what you do. It’s good for him and it’s also good for us."
