A POPULAR Scottish Football YouTuber hailed Morton’s Communities Cup clash with fierce rivals St Mirren as the country’s ‘most underrated derby’ when he attended the game earlier this week.

The Ton suffered a 2-0 home loss in the pre-season derby last Tuesday and footy vlogger Blair McNally was on-hand to capture the scenes in the crowd before and during the game.

Despite defeating their rivals at Cappielow in the same fixture last year, Dougie Imrie’s men fell victim to two clinical strikes from Irish forward Roland Idowu in the first half.

McNally’s video, which has amassed over 11,000 views since it was posted on Wednesday, show jubilant St Mirren plans climbing onto the pitch after their first goal, much to the dismay of a lively Cowshed support.

In a series of pre-game interviews, McNally also spoke to fans of both clubs, including Morton vlogger ChrisMortonTV, who made claimed the Renfrewshire Derby was second only to the Old Firm.

He said: “It’s massive, I think it’s the second biggest derby in Scotland.
“Obviously the Old Firm is the biggest, but forget Edinburgh and Dundee, this is the second biggest.”

However, St Mirren Youtuber Robert Hampston Vlogs, who also spoke to McNally, played down how important the fixture was to the Europe Conference League-bound Buddies.

He saod:: “It’s not as big game [for us] as it is for them.

“We’re the big team, we’ve got Europe in a few weeks.

“But a wee comeback victory would be nice.”

McNally also attended last year’s fixture between Morton and St Mirren at Cappielow, which Morton won 2-0, and interviewed a memorable Ton trialist – TikToker Brandon Diau – who had won the hearts of the Cappielow faithful when he turned up unannounced at the ground and asked for a trial.

Despite fans singing the towering defenders name when he made an appearance during the game against St Mirren, he was not offered a contract by Ton supremo Dougie Imrie, and now plays for Portadown FC in Northern Ireland.
