MORTON kid Alexander King says he's delighted to put his injury woes behind him as he looks to kick on from a productive loan spell at Clyde.

The Ton academy graduate was forced to miss the last month of last season, as well as a good chunk of this season, with a groin complaint and whilst it's not ideal to be playing catch-up in terms of gaining fitness, he's looking forward to getting his head down and back to work.

King made his first appearance of the season against St Johnstone last weekend coming on as a late sub, and he hopes that he can take his experiences from his loan in League Two into this coming season.

He told the Tele: "I'm really happy to be back fit and playing again, it's been a long time since I've been able to play with a problem in my groin.

"It's always tough when you don't get a proper pre-season because you find yourself playing catch-up from the minute you get back, so I just need to get my head down and work hard to be back at the level required.

"That's the best part of four months that I've had to deal with that so I'm happy to see the back of it and hopefully I can get stuck in here again.

"The loan spell, for me, was really good. I went in and played more or less every game when I was fit and that's what I felt like I needed, to try and get that experience of playing week in, week out and hopefully I can take my experiences from there and kick on again this season."
