MORTON full back Cammy Ballantyne says a lot of games will be decided by moments of magic in the Championship this season.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash against Hamilton Accies, the Ton defender says his side will need to be ruthless in both boxes
The new season might only be one game old, but the opening weekend was a story of a thousand words in telling supporters around the country just how tight Scotland’s second tier will be this season.
After a battling performance earned his side a point from a goalless draw at Partick Thistle, Ballantyne warned that his side must be ruthless in both boxes if they’re to pick up all three points more weeks than not.
He told the Tele: “It’s going to be moments of magic that’ll decide games this season. The margins are going to be so, so thin.
“You saw it on Saturday with us up at Partick. There wasn’t a lot between the sides, nor was there a lot of chances.
“You also saw similar in the Falkirk-Queen’s Park game on Friday night, there wasn’t a lot between the sides.
“When you get a chance, you’ve got to take them, whilst being good in both boxes.
“There’s no games where some team will be on top for long periods. Teams are going to be having a go and getting right in each other’s faces.
"They’re all so similar in terms of quality so it’s going to be necessary to take those chances when they arise.”
