CLASSY Morton midfielder Arron Lyall says he couldn't ask for more in his new surroundings as he's relishing being told to play with a freedom by Dougie Imrie.
The former Rangers kid revealed that Imrie hasn't been shy in telling his new playmaker to let the handbrake off and play with a freedom, almost instantly taking any weight off his shoulders as he gets used to the place that he'll now call home.
And that's seen Lyall become an instant hit with Ton fans with his displays in behind Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, with his eye for a defence splitting pass seeing him almost immediately become a vital cog in Imrie's side as he detailed just how his start to life on Sinclair Street as been.
He told the Tele: "I had some good conversations with the manager before coming here.
"He told me how confident that he was in me, which in turn, has filled me with the confidence to come in and play.
"He's been telling all the boys to go and play with a freedom, and that if they make mistakes then so be it.
"That's an immediate weight off your shoulders when you're told to go and express yourself and not to worry.
"When you can go and do that, It does make you play better because you're not playing with that worry of making a mistake or performing badly and stuff like that.
"I think that that's helped me a lot in my first few weeks at the club. In the last two games we've played with a lot of intensity, we've got the ball in the opposition's defensive third.
"You get on the end of things more, I could've possibly had a goal on Saturday and one the week before. It's such a tight area to play in, but I'm really enjoying it."
