GREENOCK footballer Luke McCowan has completed a deadline day move to his boyhood club Celtic.
The Dundee captain joined the champions on a three-year deal after a deal was struck late last night.
The former Notre Dame High School pupil was one of three signings his new manager Brendan Rodgers made on deadline day.
He joins fellow Inverclyde footballer Greg Taylor at Parkhead.
The 26-year-old midfielder started his career at Ayr United before moving to Dundee in 2021.
He made over 40 appearances for the Dens Park side last season, scoring 10 goals across the campaign and was named as Dundee’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season.
He also took over the Dundee captaincy towards the end of last season.
Hibs had four bids rejected for the midfielder, with their top offer of £800,000 made today for the player with less than a year left on his deal.
Commenting on the deal on Celtic’s official website, manager Brendan Rodgers said: "We are really happy to welcome Luke to Celtic.
"He is a player with great ability, energy and commitment and we are sure he will be a very positive addition to our squad."
