GREENOCK Morton have found out what team stands in their way as their quest for SPFL Trust Trophy success continues.

Dougie Imrie's men were today paired with 2022/23 winners Hamilton Accies, who they will face at New Douglas Park on the weekend of October 12/13 in the first tie out of the hat at the live draw at Hampden.

The Cappielow side booked their place in the fourth round after edging past Lowland League outfit Cowdenbeath on Saturday thanks to Michael Garrity's second half strike.

It was a game that saw Ton full back Zak Delaney sent off after clashing with Blue Brazil star Shay Burke, but thankfully it didn't have an overriding effect on the final result as Ton took their place in this afternoon's draw.

The New Douglas Park clash presents Dougie Imrie's side the chance to make it to the quarter final's for the third consecutive season under his tenure and fourth overall.

It's the furthest that Ton have gone into the competition since it's return after the Covid Pandemic and Cappielow boss Imrie will be looking to go one step further this year with his new look side.

Speaking after his side's victory in Fife, Imrie said: "In the main I thought it was an accomplished performance, we got the job done and are down the road with a 1-0 victory.

“It’s always going be frustrating because the pitches at this time of year are always sticky and dry.

"You can’t get the fluidity we’re trying to get in our game this season. It could have been a lot easier in terms of the score line but we got the goal.

“I understand the fans’ frustration but these games are never easy.

“All the pressure is on us. It doesn’t matter if we win 6-0 or 1-0, we’re expected to win the tie."
