GREENOCK footballer Luke McCowan has been hailed by his former school after he scored his first Celtic goal at the weekend.
The new man at Parkhead opened his Celtic account against Hearts on Saturday with a well-struck goal from the edge of the area.
His old school, Notre Dame High School in Greenock, took to Twitter to congratulate their former pupil.
They said: "Congratulations to Luke McCowan who scored his first goal for Celtic FC today!
"No doubt many more to come!"

The 26-year-old midfielder, who started out at East End United FC before becoming part of the youth set-up at Ayr United, joined Celtic from Dundee at the end of last month, making his first appearance from the substitute's bench against Rangers.
