MORTON favourite Iain Wilson says he'll not get too caught up with any frustration at not being able to play as he looks to return from a calf injury 'sooner rather than later'.

The midfielder has missed the last two games, against Cowdenbeath and Queen's Park, after picking up a calf injury in training.

But he's determined to make a quick return to the pitch and get back into the midst of the action.

Wilson believes that his side aren't too far away from picking up their first win of the season despite remaining winless after five games.

Ton face off against Airdrieonians this weekend, and Wilson insists that his side need to remain competitive, like they have been in more games than not this season, if they are to pick up all three points.

He told the Tele: "It's never nice being injured, but you can't get too caught up about it.

"I'm hoping to be back soon, because it's hard to watch on from the sides. You want to play every game that you can.

"On the flip side, you can't do too much about it. You need to focus on working hard on the training pitch and getting back as soon as possible, which is what I'm looking to do.

"I think we've been competitive in all of the games this season, really. If we can continue to be competitive in each of the games that we play then we'll pick up a win sooner rather than later we just need to keep believing.

"We know that if we can get a few wins together, it would really get the ball rolling. But we know that all the games in this division are quite difficult, so we need to be at our best if we are to get that win."
