MORTON goalkeeper Ryan Mullen insists his side won't feel sorry for themselves after being on the wrong end of another wrong call from a match official as he backed his side to bounce back from their Ayr United disappointment.
The Ton no.1 believes that these calls will even themselves out over the course of the season - but admits that it doesn't take away from the disappointment of seeing mistakes like this occur within a game.
And he revealed just what happened in the aftermath of the decision that saw him go into the book for his protests in a game that saw little separate Dougie Imrie's side and the Honest Men in a hotly contested fixture at Somerset Park.
"I do want to start believing that these things even themselves out over the course of the season," said Mullen. "But what we're not going to do is feel sorry for ourselves.
"We had 90-minutes of football there to go and make the most of what we could've out of the game.
"Look, it's not good enough when something like that happens.
"Our reactions as players tells you everything you need to know, but we'll dust ourselves down and try to get back to winning ways this weekend.
"When we've gone to the ref, you could tell that he was a bit surprised initially by his reaction.
"I don't know if he maybe wasn't looking at it. But mistakes happen.
"He's then gone and booked me for my reaction, which was probably deserved but I felt that it was clear as day.
"Ayr had their chance, I saved it and we had our two chances in the first half. It's just a bit of a bitter note to have decided a game."
