MORTON midfielder Ali Crawford says he's determined to show the best account of himself as he looks to build on a consistent start to the season.
The Ton playmaker re-joined the club in the summer, after a loan spell that was full of talking points two seasons ago, but he's determined to try and make amends this time around.
And he's keen to make the most of his chance as he relishes the opportunity handed to him by Dougie Imrie, that has seen him start every week for the first time in well over a year after being forced to sit in the stands at former club St Johnstone.
He told the Tele: "I’m really happy to be back playing. I’ve said it before not many supporters would’ve been too happy to see me come back.
“People don’t understand how hard it is to sit in the stand and not play. It’s your job. You train Monday-Friday to play on a Saturday.
“I never got that last year, so I’m just really wanting to make the most of every opportunity to be on the pitch.
“I’m here to show the best form of myself, because I know that my last spell wasn’t up to my expectations."
Crawford says he feels as if he's been able to show an element of consistency in his performances so far, but he's targeting more as he looks to contribute more frequently at the top end of the park.
“I feel as if I have started consistently this year, without really showing too much," he continued. "I’ve obviously had the two assists against Falkirk.
“But I’d like to contribute more. I’ve not had many chances to score, but hopefully they continue to come as the weeks go on.
“If I can keep getting game time then I feel like I can only continue to contribute more as the games go on."
