MORTON boss Dougie Imrie says he wants his side to get in the faces of Raith Rovers as he looks for another fast start at Cappielow this weekend.

Ton welcome the Fifers to Inverclyde for the first time this season and Imrie is looking to get back to winning ways, in a similar way to how his side secured victory against Airdrie a fortnight ago.

And Imrie says he wants his side to come out of the traps flying yet again, as the club prepare to celebrate their 150th anniversary in style.

But the Ton chief says that starting so quickly gives them the best opportunity to play their game.

"I want to start fast in every game", he told the Tele. "I want the boys to take the game to the team we're up against no matter if we're at home or away.

"We want to be fast, we want to be intense. We want to get after teams. We want to set that tone from the first whistle to the last.

"Unfortunately, to try and do that over 90-minutes is very difficult because naturally players tire, but certainly in that first period of the game we want to get after teams to try and get that lead.

"That gives us the chance to settle things down and then we can play our game. It's easier said than done though.

"We'll be looking to do that again on Saturday, get out of the traps quickly and set our standard and intensity, then we'll see what Raith have got to offer."

The Cappielow boss says that all the pressure lies on the visitors heading into this one, with their league aspirations and form not currently aligning.

"It'll be an entertaining game, no doubt," he continued. "But Raith Rovers have a big budget and will be expecting to win the league.

"We'll see the challenge they bring this weekend.

"They have brought in some very experienced players like Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson, so they're trying to replicate what they did last season by putting money into their budget.

"They'll be disappointed with their start in the league and by starting in the way that they have they've put a lot of pressure on themselves.

"It's up to us to try and take advantage of that, we'll get after them because I'm really pleased with the way we've played in our opening home games of the season.

"We want to carry on from the performance that we left off with against Airdrie."
