DETERMINED Morton boss Dougie Imrie wants to see his side establish winning mentality and make it three victories in a row when they face off against Dunfermline Athletic tomorrow.

Ton travel to Fife in fine fettle, coming into the trip to East End Park off the back of three wins and clean sheets in their last four games - and the eager Ton boss wants his side to build on last week's victory over Hamilton in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

But he warned that they won't have it quite as easy in Fife as they did in Lanarkshire as he looks to ensure the Cappielow side don't let their recent upturn in form slip and to keep their eyes upwards in the Championship table.

"We're trying to install that confidence in the players," Imrie said.

"The game last Friday was very good in terms of the performance we put in.

"We now want to go and build on that this weekend against Dunfermline. We want to build on that winning mentality.

"We go into the game in a really good place after picking up back to back wins and clean sheets, so it gives us a place to build from.

"However, the boys are getting better as the weeks go by. I need to give them full credit for that. They're really starting to gel together, boys are coming back to fitness, and the squad is beginning to look a lot stronger.

"Some of the stuff that we saw from the boys in the first half all comes down to confidence. The boys are getting used to what we're asking them to do.

"The first half was very good, then in the second half Hamilton changed their shape to accomodate how we were playing.

"I thought we did very well. We limited them to very little, apart from efforts from Oli Shaw and Euan Henderson.

"There won't be many games like that in the Championship, though, because there's no easy games and this weekend's clash against Dunfermline will be no different.

"We want to keep on building on the run that we're currently on."

He says that his players' decision making let them down at times but believes that'll come with time as they continue to get used to the system he's looking to operate with.

He added: "What we did at times was very good but there was a few times where just taking the right pass would've had us in on their back four right away.

"It's trying to get the boys to take that killer pass as opposed to taking one or two more passes to get round them. It can be one pass and away at times.

"That'll come though, I don't want to take anything away from the boys though because they've been brilliant in the last few weeks."
